LeRoy- Passed away at the NYS Veterans Home in Batavia December 14, 2019 at the age of 94.
Frances was born in Detroit Michigan on March 7, 1925. She was the first woman in Detroit to enlist and serve in the United States Army during WWII. During her service to her country she met her husband William. Frances was a lifelong member of the Botts Fiorito American Legion in LeRoy.
She is Predeased by her husband William, her Mother & Stepfather Jack and Adelaine Ramey. Sisters Loraine (Fred) Zabkiewicz and Renee (Ralph) Barone.
Frances is survived by her children William (Ann) Wood of LeRoy, Robert Wood of Alabama, and Mary Ellen (Chris) Hodges of Miami Florida. Grandchildren William (Kathy) Wood, Thomas Wood, Robert Wood, Kristen Wood Fix, Amy Scotti, Michael Horr, Brian Hodges, 13 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services and Interment will be held privately. In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be made in her Memory to the LeRoy Food Pantry & Help Fund 48 Main St. LeRoy, NY 14482, or to the Botts Fiorito American Legion Post # 576, 53 West Main St. LeRoy NY 14482.
