Ecclesiastes 3
“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to reap . . .
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance . . .
A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing . . .
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak. . . .”
And there is a time to say good-bye.

Please accept my condolence for Mr. Westacott's passing. He taught me Chemistry back in the 70's, and along with Mr. Prescott who taught biology, kept my interest in science which has taken me to the highest degrees in science and medicine. I also had a brief interface with Mr. Westacott (he'll always be Mr. Westacott to me) as he was the administrator at Pavilion at the time of my father's death (a long time bus driver for Pavilion). What stood out to me was his fairness and the use of his mastery of common sense. He was a great asset to the Pavilion Central community, and I hope his service to the community will be constantly remembered through the students that had the great fortune to know Mr. Westacott.

So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. I had the great fortune to have Bob as a mentor and, more importantly, as a dear friend. Bob had a deep and lasting love for the Pavilion Central School District. He held himself to high standards and expected nothing less from those who worked to educate the children of the district. Highly intelligent, firm, but always fair, if you prepared yourself for ideas presented to him and could withstand his insightful questioning, he would end up being your most ardent supporter. Bob possessed a great sense of humor, worked tirelessly for the school district, and continued his caring and encouragement for the Pavilion community and for the school well beyond his retirement. There are too many fond memories of Bob to even begin to touch on. Debbie and I offer our deepest condolences to his family. Please know that Bob has had a lasting, positive impact on so many of us and that his legacy has, and will continue to have, an enduring impact on many, many people.

I had the great privilege of knowing - and learning a great deal from - Bob when he served as a board member of Genesee Valley BOCES. His commitment to providing educational opportunities for the children of the region was complete and unconditional. Bob was an advocate, cheerleader and mentor to many in the education profession as well. His “coaching tree” of leaders is deep and impressive. Sympathies to Bob’s family during this difficult time. Please know even as you grieve that Bob’s influence on young people,, and those who teach them, will be felt for generations to come. Thank you for sharing your remarkable husband, father and grandfather with us. God bless you. Mike Glover
