Bud grew up on a farm on Pigeon Hill in Machias NY. He went into the Merchant Marines during WWII and served his country with pride as a cook on ship. He was blessed to be able to take part in a Honor Flight trip with his son Jay in 2012. It was a memorable time for both of them and he talked about it often. After his time in the service he moved to Rochester NY to live with his aunt and uncle where he met his wife to be singing in the church choir. They married June 4, 1949 and raised three children together. Jean died of cancer 6 days after they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Bud did not graduate high school but later received his GED and went on to earn his license as an Electrician and had a business called B&J Electric. He drove a truck for Sealtest for 30 Years and then ran his own dairy called Milks Family Dairy for another 10 years, all while running a TV repair shop, Countywide Video. He would travel many miles just to repair a television. He was known as the TV repair guy in Scottsville where he resided for 67 years. His love for repairing things and not just TV's was self taught. He finally retired at the young age of 82. He was devoted to the Lord and a long time member of the Caledonia Assembly of God church in Caledonia. Buds passion was cooking and he loved serving large crowds. Breads and Pies were favorites. He also loved to travel. Bud and Jean traveled cross country to California and many other places. He always made sure that as a family a vacation was taken every year. Family was very important to him. Get togethers were many. He loved his grand children and just adored his great grandson. Bud will be dearly missed by so many.
