Obituary for Richard T. Webster

Richard T. Webster, a life long resident of LeRoy, died unexpectedly on December 19, 2021.
Rick was born July 15, 1963 in Batavia. He married Mary Ellen (Anderson) December 2, 1995.
They have enjoyed 26 years of adventures and companionship.

Rick received an Associates Degree in Criminology and a BS in Fishery Science Management.
He worked in a variety of settings including landscaping, Genesee Brewery, Genesee Country
Museum, SUNY at Geneseo, The Jewish Home of Rochester, and Tully’s in Batavia.
Rick is survived by his beloved wife Mary Ellen and his adored son Elijah Michael, his sister
Barbara Webster and her partner Dan Hill, niece Caroline Webster-Hill, his in-laws Nancy and
Bill Anderson, several cousins, many friends, his loving family, and his faithful dogs Schultz and
Casey.

Rick was an avid outdoorsman and loved his flower gardens. He enjoyed hunting, especially
with Eli. Food was a way of connection for Rick. He was a creative and accomplished cook and
baker and always generously shared his gifts with others. Both Eli and Caroline have benefited
from Rick’s cooking expertise. Most recently, he has been an excellent care-giver of Mary Ellen
as she is facing medical issues. Rick was a very creative person and he recently taught himself to
sew, completing a king-size quilt in 18 days. His artistic touch is present throughout his home
and he enjoyed introducing Eli to untold unique artistic activities. Rick had a keen sense of
humor that he has passed on to his son Eli. Rick was always happy to share his opinion,
especially on topics he was passionate about.

Of Rick’s countless accomplishments, he was most proud of his son and he was a dedicated,
loving husband. Caring for his family was his number one priority. He was Eli’s greatest fan.
Whether it was attending baseball, volleyball, trap shooting or musical events he adored
watching Eli grow into the talented young man that he is. His complete dedication to Mary Ellen,
especially these past four months, has made her recovery possible.
Rick was predeceased by his father Vernon, and his mother Grace.

Due to COVID-19 a private service will be held at Cameron, Brady & Stueber Funeral Home in
LeRoy, followed by a private burial at Machpelah Cemetery, LeRoy. In lieu of flowers, please
consider a donation in Rick’s memory to your favorite charity.
