Scottsville, NY: Sunday, January 9, 2022 at age 89.
Predeceased by his parents, Louis & Laura Thomas; daughter Teresa Thomas; siblings, Anna France, Nora Ness, Lillian Garwood, Marian Melenbecker, Louis Thomas, George Thomas and Ethel Calkins.
Norm is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Doris (Sutterlin) Thomas; children, Terry (Joanna) Thomas, Sondra (Adam) Thomas; brother, Bill Thomas; grandchildren, Briana Montanaro, Emmett Montanaro; many nieces and nephews.
Norm was a hard worker, loved his family and enjoyed operating his backhoe. He loved sports and played basketball in high school. He worked on his family farm in Swain, NY before serving in the US Army for 2 years. Norm was a general contractor in business for himself for 40 years and was a 34 year member of the Chili American Legion Post 1830.
Interment will be private at Mumford Rural Cemetery.
His service will be held on Saturday, May 21st at 1pm at the Chili American Legion Post#1830, 450 Scottsville-Chili Road, Scottsville, NY 14546
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to CHS Mobile Integrated Healthcare(Ambulance), 280 Calkins Road, Rochester, NY 14623 and to Chili American Legion Post 1830, 450 Scottsville-Chili Road, Scottsville, NY 14546.
