Obituary for Angela R. Milburn (Young)

Angela Rose Milburn (Young) passed away on May 15, 2023 at the Le Roy Village Green in LeRoy, NY. Angela was born in Scotland on March 15, 1945 to Charles and Rosemary Young just ahead of her twin sister, Wendy. Angela will be missed by her son Michael Milburn, his wife Patti (nee Moser) and their children: Mike, Carlyn, Kyle and Cory; her daughter Christine Gephart, her husband Jeff and their children Alexander, Ava and Addison; her son Andrew; and her daughter in law Jennifer Milburn (nee Lloyd) and her children Shelby, Samantha, and Christopher. Angela is also survived by her siblings Paul (Penny) Young, Wendy Bisson, Stephen Young, Simon (Mary) Young and Belinda Durnin, her sister-in-law Donna (Morris) Mummery, her brother-in-law Gary (Carla) Milburn as well as many nieces and nephews.

Angela is predeceased by her husband Clair, son David, sister Melanie, sisters-in-law Frances and Brigitte, brother-in-law Roger.

Angela was raised in England until the age of 12, when her family moved to Canada and then they immigrated to the United States at the age of 17. She was one of 7 children. In 1968 she married Clair Milburn and over the course of the next 9 years had four children: Clair Michael, Christine Angela, Andrew Charles and David Christopher. Clair and Angie lived in Lima where they spent their time raising their children, helping their community and operating the Milburn’s Big M, where she was the Office Manager. She was a member of the Volunteer Ambulance and the Lima Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Angie and Clair enjoyed traveling together with annual road trips to Maine to be with family and Big M owner trips to amazing destinations. Together they enjoyed hosting family reunions, spontaneous pool parties with neighbors and company picnics, which all have been fondly remembered by her children as well as many young people. She enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids play sports (especially baseball), her morning coffee and chats with friends in Lima, and any time spent with family. Her most proud accomplishments after raising her children were becoming a Nana and a United States citizen. Her sense of humor, sarcasm and sweet English accent will surely be missed by many.

Family and friends are invited to come celebrate her life on Sunday, May 21st from 2-5 pm at Cameron-Brady & Steuber Funeral Home, located at 111 Wolcott St, LeRoy NY. There will be a private burial ceremony at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The LeRoy Village Green’s Sunshine Fund at 10 Munson St, LeRoy, NY 14482. We cannot thank them enough for the wonderful care they provided to Angela in her later years
